Letting go is hard.
I despise change. It’s easier for me to keep up with norms than to rock the boat.
Most of us are hardwired this way. It’s the path of least resistance that attracts us.
I know how easy it is to go through life on autopilot. Recently, I’ve worked to change things up. But it’s not easy.
The Past Holds On
Old habits are often more appealing than trying to push past the mundane. We know deep down when it happens.
We set a goal and start taking steps, and something comes up. It says no way; you aren’t any different. I hear it frequently.
But I am pushing through, which means taking things one step at a time. It could be moment to moment.
The goal has to be progress, not perfection.
Courage is the power to let go of the familiar.”
